Four To The Floor – Episode 23

The UK population of Red Squirrels is on the rise after 140 years.  A study in the North of England released it’s findings in September.  “Almost 300 woodlands were visited in the north, including in Cumbria and Northumberland, and the number of reds was found to have risen by 7% compared to spring 2012.”   The American Grey Squirrels indigenous to the United States were introduced to Great Britain in the mid-19th century.  They have now become one of the UK’s most well known mammals and population levels are estimated at around 2 million.

Squirrel Facts:  There are over 200 species of Squirrel all over the world, the exception being Australia. The African Pgmy is the smallest at 5 inches (thirteen centimeters) and the Indian Giant Squirrel* being the largest at three feet (almost 1 meter).

Squirrel Hunting with Tracers

I’m not really sure how I feel about this video.  I generally have mixed views about Hunting, but it sure is funny when the Squirrel pops off the post in slow motion.
