Dee Scott – LDN Bad Boy V1
“Shake those hips and roll those shoulders, nod that head and bowl em over”!
I enjoyed this track so much I wrote that short poem to describe a persons actions when hearing this song possibly for the first time “in da club”? I haven’t been so excited about a drum pattern since I heard “Oscar G – I want Your Love”* a similar but some what house-ier production from Oscar. Dee Scott on the other hand has crafted a grimier London sound that anyone from the UK should be aware of, and proud of. The incorporation of the “Commodore 64” style synth action and rap vocals in a raspy ‘LDN’ accent makes this unique compared to the music we have been writing about recently and for that reason it stands out from the crowd.
Not content with just one production genre Dee Scott also known as ‘Afro Punk No1’ has a varied production style that shows talent in multiple areas and she runs her own DJ agency. Box Berry Music. Impressed? Oh yeah, I think she is also responsible for the vocals on this track. Keep your eyes and ears prepped for ‘Amy Mcknight’ (real name). Based in London her DJ sets around the town are probably where the inspiration came form for “LDN Badboy”.
