Don’t D’ley get your free Specimen A and B

Two tracks from Specimen A, one of which is a collaboration with James D’ley. Trap trap trap trap trap tarp trap – When I first heard of Trap Music I though “Don’t you open that Trap Door!”*  If you were born in the 90’s or outside the UK that will mean absolutely nothing to you.  ‘Shut your Trap’

Vicetone Feat Barack Obama – Hope

Ok what the hell is this?   Feat Barack Obama ‘Hope’ is like a kick in the nuts*. You fucking hate it at the time, but later you can’t stop telling people how you were kicked in the balls, and although it hurt it was fucking epic!   Yes this track is ‘capital E’ Epic.  Some

Gilbert Le Funk doing his own thing!

It’s a Thursday – Post day for Veryfunkyrecords.com. I was very lucky then to discover Gilbert Le Funk’s ‘Bay Breeze’.  This track has an orchestral epic sound that really has ephemeral stokes of genius –  I believe I Just found my favorite track of May so far – expect this on the radio show.  I

Option4 – Do Work (Bit Funk Remix)

Option4 is an interesting name, the wif of missed opportunity lurks ever present with the possible nagging regret that 1 2 or 3 could have been just as good a choice.  From Denver Colorado, USA, real name Brennen Bryarly.  This is another reminder that EDM has become a global phenomenon. Plus a collaboration with the masterful Bit Funk.

Daft Punk – Get Lucky – A selection of Remixes

Remixed by the world.  The many (so many) remixes of “Daft Punk Get Lucky”  A selection here from Sound Cloud alone. To make it easier I have used a three word system to simply describe the remix and 1 to 5 smiley face symbol marking each track. 1 being bad 5 being good.  Please keep in

Rob Williams – Jazz Vibe

Rob Williams makes his debut with this solid slab of uncompromising Disco House!  The young Welsh man has dropped out of the ether with a bouncy nod to the “vocal talkie bits” in a breakdown, often serving as a call to arms directed into the ears of the ravers on the floor.  For another example

DJ Dan and DJ Mes – “I Got It”

I am reminded of the late 90’s and early 00’s with much of the disco house being produced at the moment.  I was happy to discover this little gem constructed by the ‘all powerful’ DJ Mes.  This American producer has done it more than many times, coupled with DJ Dan, another Guest House hero.  Don’t

Akabu feat Alex Mills “Everybody Wants Something” Joey Negro Strip Mix

If you’re into Dance music it’s hard not to like a production from Joey Negro, AKA Dave Lee, AKA……’Insert latest project name here’.  (Bradd Shitt is my favourite).  A guy who embraces dance music roots more than anyone.  If Dave Lee had a time machine, I reckon he would head back to the days of

French Horn Rebellion – Girls (feat. JD Samson and Fat Tony)

Free downloads are always awesome.  “Free Music thank you very much random band whom up until now I had never heard of”.  It worked for the Artic Monkeys in the beginning and now look at em.  Kings of all they survey in the Indie rock world, what ever the hell is going on over their

Sonny Fodera feat. Justin Chalice – Stuck

So this is an uncomplicated house tracks with a linear nature and definitive histrionic antiquated groove, as if lifted from the dance floors of the original NYC Loft or the Paradise Garage.  Simple is none the less effective, and Sonny Fodera has crafted, yet again another melodic groover. My initial reaction is to lean against a post and snap my
