Carl Hanaghan vs The Crusaders & Randy Crawford – Street Life

Sometimes a straight down the middle House remix is what you want to get the party on it’s feet and Carl Hanaghan seems to be one of those people who has this production ability down.  Street Life from Randy Crawford has been knocking about clubland for years in one form or another and this version

Four To The Floor Episode 6

FOUR TO THE FLOOR SOME BANGERS NEW AND OLD!                       GotSome Feat The Get Along Gang ‘Bassline EP’ “The Get Along Gang” was a cartoon I was obsessed with in the early 80’s.  Surprised they have branched out into producing deep dark “Rap House” championed

Kalai – Wouldn’t Do + Dusted

The eighties ain’t dead…. Not according to Kalai’s tracks “Wouldn’t do” and Dusted” Electro Robot Disco  is mounted like a WW2 German 88 launching relentless funk all around these tracks, persistent like the T1000, minus the desire to smite Sarah and John Connor.  Who knew such retro sounds emerging from Belfast could be so simple and

Eat More Cake – Thinking About Your Love

Let them eat cake…  And more and more and more.  If the band name was Eat More Chocolate I would be on board before I heard a release, as it happens I was interested when a free track invitation was sent into my twitter direct msg box.  Usually I loath these  requests for likes or

We all wanna have fun

One day, about 15 years ago, my Dad and I sat down in front of the TV and began to watch Batman (Micheal Keaton version) and in my opinion, still the best Bat.  My Dad looked at me and said, “I remember this when it was released in the cinema, you begged me to take you”.  In the end he didn’t

Dee Scott – LDN Bad Boy V1

“Shake those hips and roll those shoulders, nod that head and bowl em over”! I enjoyed this track so much I wrote that short poem to describe a persons actions when hearing this song possibly for the first time “in da club”?  I haven’t been so excited about a drum pattern since I heard “Oscar

Samir Maslo – Ain’t No Stopping Us Now

This is a track title that jumps off the page even if it turns out not to be a rework of the “Macfadden Whitehead” classic, but this is and we welcome it, and the producer Samir Maslo.  Some nice little disco production touches in the remix although the original track DNA is plain to see.

Solidisco // Steed Lord

Free Download again here from “Solidisco” – Some producers are getting very generous with their high quality material.  I can’t decide if its the disco guitar, the break beat drums or the totally fucking awesome repeated “Go Go Go Go Go” into the drop that makes this a must have for any Disco House

Pryda – Layers

How can this record fail?  I suspect it is going straight to the top of the dance floor charts all over the world. Layers has two sounds going on.  The laser like synths and the building block bass line, not much else.  The simple nature of many Eric Prydz’s records is also his apparent key

Shane D – 4 tracks From…

I bought my first ‘Shane D’ track last year, a remix of Etta James, “Etta’s Jam”*.  Although that now famous sample has been used many many times before I loved the construction of the beats and the rolling chunky bass line. ‘Something’s Got A Hold of Me’  was sampled by  Avicii,  and Flo Rida in
